![]() Obviously a pistol user wants pistols, a melee character wants melee weapons, and an aiming-based character wants sniper rifles. ![]() ![]() If your question is asking about which character-trait builds want to use these weapons - it's usually anyone that isn't specialised elsewhere. Plasma rifle is still a great weapon, though! Plasma shotguns, rail rifle, and BFTs are all great weapons. Plasma rifles are generally just better assault rifles, but since they use energy cells, they're competing with other, excellent weapons for ammo. If you mean the latter (all fully-automatic rifles) - "9mm auto rifle"s tend to be a little poor basically hunter rifles out-perform them in Callisto if you're not playing on apocalypse or inferno difficulty, and even on the top difficulties it's close. That weapon is enough to sail through europa, and does wonderfully in Io too. Without whizkid, I like calibrated and longshot. It pays incredibly well to auto-calibrate it, because auto-calibration make the difference between 1-turn-kills throughout europa and much of Io (this is largely because auto-calibration add's +10% damage, rounding up, so 11 damage becomes 13!Īdd to the auto-calibration with barbed (needs 2 bulk mods) and maybe hunter if you have whizkid. If it's the former, the 7.62 assault rifle is a strong contender for the best 'normal' weapon for the largest portion of the game. Or do you mean fully-automatic rifles? (9mm auto rifle, 7.62 assault rifle, plasma rifle etc)? middle of the road stuff ? Higher dmg vs robots ?īy assault rifles, do you actually mean ASSAULT RIFLES (of which there is only 1 - the 7.62 assault rifle)? Rotary have massive dmg through a huge discharge of bullets.Īssault Rifles mostly seems to have. Pistols have that sweet sweet alpha damage that seems so OP in this game. I must say, when I'm looking at the aforementioned pistol build which absolutely rocks or the rotary run'n'gun build I've seen a lot of people use both seems pretty obvious compared to the assault rifle. So is there any assault rifle build out there for the Marine ? The other traits simply doesn't apply to the weapon. Also, if I'm to "run and gun" I would much prefer using a rotary than an assault rifle. Onslaught might work since it states "Auto" but it's unclear and I'm not sure haven't tried it yet. In my limited experience, Vampyre & Survivor seems to be oriented toward generic all purpose builds that doesn't require a specific weapon. The Marine doesn't seems to offer anything significant for assault rifles. Of course, it's sad they're all burst and have lower alpha damage (which seems to always be better in this game) but what really broke my balls is the traits list and especially the master ones. Always though that using an assault rifle could be fun. You can do the entire game with just that setup.Īt some point, I felt the need to try to diversify my playstyle. it's so good that once you've got it no purple or green weapon will matter. The best build I've found is the akimbo pistol using bulletsorm, gunslinger, army surplus and two. I'm looking for feedback here so don't panic I'm not trashing the weapon yet.
